Craftsbury Review -

Thank you to all parents and volunteers who helped out with another successful ski weekend at Craftsbury.

Saturday's training session consisted of a higher volume ski (distance) with some technique work. Having so much snow, it was great to get out and explore the vastness of an incredible groomed trail system. This was definitely a change from last year's trip, where we were limited to a one and a half kilometer loop (all man made snow). Much of Saturday morning's ski was spent classic'ing'. Sunday was our higher intensity day, marked by a workout consisting of 1 kilometer classic repeats. The goal for the workout was twofold - to simulate a race like scenario including a structured warm-up, and to help foster competitiveness by mass starting skiers for each repeat.

Week of 1/7-

Practice / race schedule for the week is below. Note Wednesday’s race and dismissal time. Team pictures will also happen this Friday at 3:00. Every team member will need to have their uniform and race jacket available for this day.

Monday 1/7
- Practice at EHS (Low intensity, distance classic ski w/technique intro)
Tuesday 1/8
- Race prep: Clean kick zone and Wax Classic skis. Games.
Wednesday 1/9
- Classic Race at Sleepy Hollow: start time, 3:30 varsity girls followed by varsity boys, then jv girls followed by jv boys. Dismissal at 1:00, bus leaves EHS at 1:30.
Thursday 1/10
- Practice at The Range (skate). Bus leaves EHS at 2:50. Approximate return time- 5:15/5:30
Friday 1/11
- Practice at EHS (skate). Team picture at 3:00, come to practice wearing uniform and warm-up jacket.
