Craftsbury Info and U-32 Race Updates

Good evening athletes and parents!

Please read this important information about upcoming Nordic happenings.

Here is the race information for tomorrow’s race:
Skate Race at U-32 High School, 930 Gallison Hill Rd, Montpelier, VT 05602. Bus leaves EHS at 8 AM. Race starts at 10 AM. We'll have roughly an hour between our arrival and the start of the race, so here's the plan: Arrive at U-32, de-bus, stash gear, course preview, distribute bibs, memorize start times, individual prerace warm ups, RACE!!!
  • Race order: Varsity Boys, followed immediately by Varsity girls; followed immediately by Junior Varsity boys, followed immediately by Junior Varsity girls.
  • Interval start.  Two skiers every twenty seconds.
  • Course: 3 km loop. Varsity skis 2 laps, JV skis 1.
  • When leaving U-32 after the race, please bring your own equipment back onto the bus. At our last race we accidentally picked up skis belonging to another team.
  • Parents and spectators, please be aware that U-32 does not allow dogs so please leave dogs at home, otherwise they will have to stay in your car.

This upcoming week is exam week. Sleep well. We will practice Monday at Sleepy Hollow, Tuesday at EHS, Wednesday at EHS, Thursday at the Range, prerace Friday at EHS.

On Saturday, January 16, we have a classic race at Sleepy Hollow Inn and Ski Center in Huntington. I will send more specific information next week, after our race this weekend.

Lastly, we will be having the annual Craftsbury weekend starting Friday night, Jan 22 (after the MMU race at the range) and running through Sunday, January 24. Lucy Breckenridge sent an email out to parents earlier this week with more information as well as sign ups for food and drivers. I will have the cost information for parents soon. The number of chaperones for this trip is determined by the number of drivers that we have and the amount of space available for chaperones at the inn. Parents, please check your email for the sign ups for meals and drivers that Lucy sent you. This is an exciting and fun trip! More information to come.

Please contact me if you have questions. Have a great day!

Go Hornets!
