Latest and Greatest

Hi All, lots of information for you - Race Details for Fri and Craftsbury updates.

For our race Friday skiers are released from class at 1:10 PM. The bus will depart at 1:30. This has been changed, the times posted before are not accurate.

Friday race details:

MMU Continuous Pursuit Race
Range - Jericho, VT
January 22, 2016


MMU, Stowe, BFA-F, CVU, Col, U-32, Mont, BHS, SoBurl, St.J, NCU, Woodstock, BFA-SA, Essex, MIDD, Lamoille


Schedule: 2:00-3:00pm Registration
3:30pm MSG freestyle mass start
3:45pm MSB freestyle mass start
4:15pm JVG freestyle mass start
4:30pm JVB freestyle mass start
5:00pm VG classic/freestyle pursuit
5:45pm VB classic/freestyle pursuit
6:30pm Awards


Varsity Races are limited to 10 racers per gender per school


Race Format: Each team will have 1 start lane assigned on race day. JV races will be 1-2 laps, freestyle only.  All Varsity racers will begin race with 3-4km classic race.  Top 30 racers into start/finish area will proceed to designated “team corral” to exchange equipment at their discretion and continue 3-4km freestyle race.   Top 30 places will be determined at completion of freestyle race.  Classic racers who miss cut will finish at Timing Shack and be given a classic race time only.  Race will be scored by top 4 skiers per school at completion of freestyle race using classic results if necessary.  All race loops for each race will be the same (MS Skate,JV Skate, V Classic, V Skate).


Other notes:
  • Corrals will labeled by team
  • Seed skiers in order they are to line up for mass start.
  • There are enough climbs to spread field out during classic race, however, please practice good sportsmanships.
  • Classic Course TBD, approx distance 3km.  Tracks will be set on outside of race course, skiers may classic ski anywhere on trail.  
  • Freestyle Course TBD, approx distance 3km.  Middle lane of race course will be groomed for skating.
  • Course Marshals will be on course for classic and freestyle race.
  • Please keep our area picked up! clean up trash!  
  • Prizes!  Pies for top V boys and girls.  Bags of cookies for top JV finishers!
  • Concessions – plan on dinner and snacks!

........After our race on Friday we will load up and head to the Lakeview Inn, 295 Breezy Avenue, Greensboro, VT 05481

  • Skiers will know beforehand who they're riding with -we will discuss tomorrow in practice.
  • When we get to Greensboro (8:30-9:00 PM), we'll eat and figure out sleeping arrangements.

Saturday, January 23th:
7:00 – Shake out run at Inn (optional)
7:30 - Breakfast
8:30 - Leave for Craftsbury Outdoor Center
9:00 – Overdistance classic ski: lots of K’s.  Ruthie’s!!!
11:45-12:00 - Lunch at Outdoor Center
1:00- Afternoon ski (skate technique)
3:00- Leave for Lakeview Inn
6:00- Dinner


Sunday, January 24th:
7:45- Breakfast
9:00- Leave for Outdoor Center
9:30- Ski – Skate and Classic Technique Work, Etc…
12:00- Lunch
12:00-1:00 Free ski
1:05 depart Craftsbury Outdoor Center for EHS
2:30-3:00 Arrive back at EHS

***Some skiers and parents have different departure plans for Sunday, please check in with Ben before departing, we don't want to run out of space for people on the way home!
